Tennis elbow is a condition that impacts anyone who irritates the tendons in their forearms, and is not simply limited to tennis players alone. The reason tennis players are often suffering from a tennis elbow injury is because the wrist movement and swinging can cause inflammation of the tendon.
Like golfer’s elbow, tennis elbow also causes pain from the outside of your elbow through your forearm and into your wrist and fingers. Along with numbness weakness, and discomfort, you may also find it difficult to grip objects, shake hands, open jars, or use everyday utensils. Turning the wrist or squeezing anything can cause sharp pain, making it difficult to complete various tasks.
Along with utilising the RICE method, we also use massage to release built up scar tissue, along with stretches that improve mobility, and strengthening exercises to take pressure off the forearm. For long term health of your elbow, we also assess your posture to make it is not the cause of your pain.
